Andhra University makes its place in World Rankings

Setting another record in the country, Andhra University has made it to the band of in 601-800 among Higher Education institutions worldwide, according to the 2015-2016 Times Higher Education World Rankings.
Within India, the University has been ranked 11 out of 19 institutions including IISc and IITs listed in the rankings.
This is an outcome of AP Higher Education Department’s knowledge mission vision “To make AP as an education and knowledge hub” for which a project “Repositioning Andhra University in top 50 in the world in five years” was envisioned in coordination with AP Economic Development Board last summer.
Andhra University had compiled all the requirements for teaching, International outlook and Industry Income components from its factual data.
Getting Research publications visible on the web and their citations/impact quantified was a herculean task to be executed in a very short duration during summer vacation, said officials from the Higher Education department.
As a result, AU is working on improving its citations index using automated techniques and web crawl based methods.
AU was also listed in QS BRICS rankings. India Today-Nielsen Survey has ranked it as the 2nd best state university in India and 8th best university in India when central universities are also included.
